The key "THANKSGIVING" JONAH
JONAH 2: 1-10
"But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the LORD." JONAH 2:9
That all of you know the story of Jonah that eaten by big fish . But there is rarely something that we learned from this incident. We mostly know that Jonah can come out of the belly because he was conscious and repent, God ultimately will kindly remove it from the belly of the fish. Actually, if we read carefully, not just Jonah's repentance and consciousness that appealed to him God. But, as long as he was in the belly of the fish, Jonah gave thanks for what happened to him! In Jonah 2, it is the passage of thanksgiving prayer of Jonah. Imagine when under stress, lost hope and feel guilty, Jonah finally repented, even give thanks for what he experienced. We do not ever think, why did Jonah run away from his calling? Sure he has his reasons.
Whether it's family problems, for they see God-given job is too difficult or Jonah issue with love? If these problems experienced by Jonah in this era. But in conditions like that, just it's not enough. In verse 1-8 it explain about prayer requests to God Jonah. In verse 9, he just said gratitude and promised to sacrifice. And what happens miracles Jonah said in verse 9. We must learn to give thanks for whatever circumstances God allows to happen. Whether it's our fault or the will of God. Remain thankful! Because this is an expression of faith and the principle of prayer.
